Below is the Math AGENDA for the week of Monday April 25 - Friday April 29 for my Grade 8 & 9 Math classes: Grade 8 Monday April 25  - Hey everyone, today we are writing the Chapter 3 UNIT TEST. All the best!! Tuesday April 26 -    Hey guys, today we are staring Chapter 10 (Solving Linear Relations). Today we are looking at modelling one-step equations.  Please refer to the section 10.1 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 376 (#1-10) Wednesday April 26 -  Hey everyone, today we are wrapping up section 10.1. We are looking at solving one-step equations by using Algebra. Remember, in order to isolate the variable you need to perform the opposite (inverse) operation to both sides of the equation.  Please refer to the section 10.1 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details.  Today's activity is on Pg 377 (#11-18) Thursday April 27 -  Hey everyone, today we are using class time to continue working on solving o

Below is the Math AGENDA for the week of Monday April 18 - Friday April 22 for my Grade 8 & 9 Math classes: Grade 8 Monday April 18  - No school today, I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! Tuesday April 19 -  Hey everyone, today we are using class time to wrap up the questions from section 3.4. We are looking at applying the Pythagorean Theorem and using this theorem to solve application problems.  Please refer to the section 3.4 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 104 (#6-16) Wednesday April 20 -  Hi everyone, today we started section 3.5 and learned how to apply the Pythagorean Theorem in application questions, and looked at a strategy on how to determine if an angle within a triangle is 90 degrees. Moreover, recall a "Pythagorean Triple," which consists of 3 whole numbers that would form the side lengths of a right triangle. For example 3,4,5 is an example of a Pythagorean Triple.  Please refer to t

Below is the Math AGENDA for the week of Monday April 11 - Friday April 15 for my Grade 8 & 9 Math classes: Grade 8 Monday April 11  -  Hey everyone, today we are starting section 3.3 and we are looking at how to estimate the square root of a non-perfect square using mental math (ie: without a calculator). Moreover, we will also look at application questions pertaining to this idea.  Please refer to the section 3.3 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 98 (#1,3,4,5) Tuesday April 12 -  Hey everyone, today we learned how to find a number such that its square root is in between two other whole numbers. Moreover, we learned how to use our square root button and approximate the square root of non-perfect squares.  Please refer to the section 3.3 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 99 (#6-18) Wednesday April 13 -  Hi guys, today we will be starting section 3.4, and

Below is the Math AGENDA for the week of Monday April 4 - Friday April 8 for my Grade 8 & 9 Math classes: Grade 8 Monday April 4  -  Hey everyone, today are looking at how to determine if a number is a perfect square by using prime factorization.  "You will see that you must have an EVEN number of prime factors in order to be a perfect square." Please refer to the section 3.1 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 85 (#1,2, 9-16) Tuesday April 5 -  Hey everyone, today we wrapped up section 3.1 and looked at SQUARING, and its opposite which is taking the SQUARE ROOT. Moreover, we looked at applying this concepts visually with  squaring --> finding the area,  and taking the s quare root --> finding the side length .  Please refer to the section 3.1 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 86 (#17-22,24,25) Wednesday April 6 -  Hi guys, today we will be
