Below is the Math agenda for the week of Monday February 15 - Friday February 19 for my Grade 8 & 9 classes:  Grade 8 Monday February 15  - No school today, as it is Family Day. I hope you all had a great day! Tuesday February 16  - Hey everyone, today we are starting section 10.4 and we're looking at understanding how to solve multi-step equations of the form a(x + b) = c using a model. The model we will be using is Algebra Tiles. They are a good way of visualizing the manipulation on both sides of the equation when they are solved.  Please refer to the section 10.4 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 397 (#2-7) Wednesday February 17 -  Hey guys, today we are wrapping up section 10.4 and we're looking at solving multi-step equations of the form a(x + b) = c. We are going to solve these types of equations by applying the distributive property.  Please refer to the section 10.4 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on m

Below is the Math agenda for the week of Monday February 8 - Friday February 12 for my Grade 8 & 9 classes:  Grade 8 Monday February 8  -  Hey everyone, today we are working in section 10.3 and looking at solving 2-step equations that are of the form x/a + b = c using ALGEBRA.  Remember, when solving a 2-step equation: Isolate the variable, by performing the opposite operation to both sides of the equation. Remembering to:  1st: Perform the adding/subtracting 2nd: Perform the multiplying/dividing Please refer to the section 10.3 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Today's activity is on Pg 392 (#8-11) Tuesday February 9  - Hey everyone, today we are using class time as a work-period to wrap up section 10.3, and using the remainder of the time to prepare and study for tomorrow's quiz. Below is the Math agenda for the week of Monday February 1 - Friday February 5 for my Grade 8 & 9 classes:  Grade 8 Monday February 1  -  Hey everyone, today we are using class time to continue working on solving one-step equations.  Today's activity is on Pg 378 (#19 - 28) Tuesday February 2  - Hey everyone, today we are starting section 10.2 and we're looking at understanding how to solve 2-step equations of the form ax + b = c by using a model. The model we will be using is Algebra tiles. They are a good way of visualizing the steps (manipulation) on both sides of the equation when they are solved.  Today's activity is on Pg 384 (#1-6) Please refer to the section 10.2 NOTES in the gr. 8 notes tab on my Blog for details and for review.  Wednesday February 3 -  Hey guys, today we are looking at solving 2-step equations of the form ax + b = c by using Algebra. Remember:  When solving a 2-step equation: Isolate the variable, by performing the opposite operation to both s
