Below is the Math AGENDA for the week of Monday October 11 - Friday October 15 for my Grade 8 & 9 Math classes:
Grade 8
Monday October 11 - Hey everyone, today there is no school. I hope you all have a wonderful time with your families.
Tuesday October 12 - Hi everyone, today we are looking at multiplying a whole number with a fraction using a model and a diagram (number line). Moreover, we will be applying theses ideas in a word-problem.
Today's activity is on Pg 202 (#4-9,11,14-16)
Wednesday October 13 - Hey everyone, today we started section 6.2, and we are looking at modeling the division of a fraction and a whole number with a model (fraction strips), and a diagram, (number line).
Today's activity is on Pg 208 (#1-5)
Step 1: Write the whole number over 1
Step 2: Change division to multiplication
Step 3: Take the reciprocal (flip the fraction) of the number to the right
Step 4: Multiply straight across
Today's activity is on Pg 208 (#6-14), also please bring a few pencil crayons for tomorrow's activity.
The in class activity that you worked on (with a partner) was on Pg 210 (#1-6).

Tuesday October 12 - Hey guys, today we will be evaluating powers that have a positive base. We'll be looking at representing powers in repeated multiplication and standard form.
Today's activity is Alice in Wonderland on Pg 92 (#1 - 5)
Wednesday October 13 - Today we will be discussing the Penny Problem in detail and looking deeper into its meaning, expression, graphs and applications.
Moreover, we'll be working in Section 3.1 and looking at evaluating powers with a negative base.
Today's activity is on Pg 96 (#1 - 5)
Thursday October 14- Today we are using class time to wrap up Section 3.1 and using class time as a work-period.
Today's activity is Pg 97 (#6 - 22)
Friday October 15 - Hi everyone, today we will be looking at what happens when you multiply powers with the same base. You will see that when multiplying powers with the same base you simply add the exponents. This will be the 1st Exponent Law that we'll be learning.
Today's activity is on Pg 99 (#1- 5)
